The astronauts of the Artemis II mission have travelled to the furthest distance into space from Earth, completing a six-hour flyby of the moon and taking in a solar eclipse.

The four-member crew successfully completed a "translunar injection burn" on Thursday, sending them out of Earth's orbit and toward the moon.
