The Artemis II moon mission is on the cusp of launching, sending four astronauts further in space than any humans before them.

Two days after Artemis II lifted off on the first crewed lunar mission in more than 50 years, the astronauts are already sending back luminous glimpses from their journey into deep space.

Lori Glaze told a news conference: “Ladies and gentlemen, I am so, so excited to be able to tell you that for the first time since 1972 during Apollo 17, human beings have left Earth orbit.”
