Ohio youth have Olympic luge dreams
COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — The luge competitions at the 2026 Winter Olympic Games have ended, but some young enthusiasts in the central Ohio area are focused on the sport all year round. As the Winter Olympics have been going on,
Nodar Kumaritashvili, a promising Georgian luger, collided with a metal pole during his final training run and died.
"Milan has been very nice, and the people have been very hospitable. I'm walking everywhere, some people recognize me as the world's greatest curler, and some people have no idea who I am," said Shaq, laughing. When asked which winter sport he would compete in, the Big Diesel had two picks in mind.

Olympic athletes are pretty fast, but are they faster than a cheetah?
It's a bird, it's a plane! Nope — it's a luge racer speeding down an ice track at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy. Luge — a sport where athletes hurl themselves downhill feet-first on a small sled — wins the gold medal for the fastest Winter Olympic event.
