Explainer: Types of wire being used in Texas: Concertina wire has more square barbs and it’s not as dangerous— This is used on the ground level where people are crossing. Razor wire has literal razors on it for barbs and is used to reinforce the anti climb barriers at a higher level (there is some razor wire on lower levels in Quemado).
