For those of you who knew the original recording of "Rain", you might recall the record scratch controversy: Shortly after Frontiers was released in 2007, record stores (those were a thing back then) began to receive complaints about malfunctioning CDs. Apparently the sound of an old scratchy vinyl record that I baked into the start of this song had people perplexed. I had hoped it would invoke a feeling of nostalgia, but instead it just confused my audience. And the record company was not happy
