Today marks the 100th anniversary of Ernest Shackleton’s death. The Met Office worked with Shackleton in preparation for his last voyage. His ship, the Quest, was designated an official Weather Observation vessel and his weather observation instruments were loaned to him by the Met Office and the records that he took form part of our valuable archive.
